Weekend Catch Up

On Friday, this sweet girl had her Valentine's Day party at school. I got off work a little early so I was able to pick her up, she was so excited :) And yes, she's still very proud of that missing tooth

Friday night we went to Savannah for dinner and to look around the mall. Perfect family Valentine's night.

On the way there, we saw the most beautiful sunset I've ever seen, it was SO pretty!

As soon as we got to the mall, Olivia made a b-line straight to the 2 story carousel, duh.

After that, we shopped around and ate dinner and went home. Sweet girl was out before we even got out the parking lot.

Saturday morning, we dropped Olivia off at my mother in law's house for the rest of the weekend. After that, we rode around some back roads just to kill some time.

We took the pup home and went to our local Mexican restaurant for a late lunch/early dinner. It was SO good.

The rest of the weekend was spent grocery shopping, blah and cleaning house, double blah and hanging out. Here's to hoping the week flies by!

And I'll leave you with this sweet picture of Hunter.

Have a good week!

Liebster Award :)

I was nominated for my first (I think) Liebster by my BFF Miranda

Here's how it works in case you didn't know...

The Liebster Award is a way for bloggers to celebrate other bloggers. It's passed down from one blogger to another, as long as the blogger has less than 200 followers. If you choose to accept the nomination, here are a few rules to follow:

1.  Answer the questions from the person who nominated you.
2. List 10 facts about yourself.
3. Create 10 new questions.
4. Nominate 5-10 bloggers with less than 200 followers.

So, here are the questions Miranda has given me:

1 - Where have you traveled, and which was your favorite place?

I've been to Tennessee, Michigan, Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, Florida, Georgia, Key West, and the Cayman Islands. My favorite place was probably when I went on my senior cruise. We went to Key West and the Cayman Islands and we had.a.blast! I've always said if we could do it all over again for our 10th year graduation anniversary I would be all over it! However, since it's Valentines Day, I can't leave out the poor Hubs, so my 2nd favorite place was our honeymoon. We had a week in a secluded cabin on the side of a mountain in Gatlinburg and it was SO nice!

2 - What is the biggest hurdle you've had to overcome?

I'm not really sure about this one. I've dealt with personal issues, deaths in the family, etc...but as far as a hurdle I've had to overcome, I've got nothin :\

3 - Who is your best friend and how did you meet?

I've got quite a few really good friends. Of course, my sister :). Then there's Bree and Meredith, both of whom I've been friends with since Kindergarten and we still stay in touch now! And I've also got Miranda. We didn't really hit it off when we first met but now we are super close. She calls us "besties" but that word makes me gag so I refer to us as BFF's.

4 - If you could give one piece of blogging advice what would it be?

Ha! I've got 1 20 followers and I'm lucky to post 2x a week, so you don't want blogging advice from me!

5 - Have you ever met a celebrity? If so, do tell!

Last September, we went to a Corey Smith concert and my husband won us meet & greets so yes, I've met him, if he counts as a celebrity but other than that, nope. I've been to NYC and seen a few of them walking down the streets or we heard that such and such was shopping in a store on 5th Ave but that's it.  Oh yeah, I did see Big Boi from Outkast in the Savannah Mall a few years ago.

6 - What is your #1 pet peeve?

No way I can only have 1 pet peeve. First up, the word bestie, I don't like it and I think it should come with an age limit. Haha! Secondly, people who "suck" their teeth after they eat, it grosses me out to no end. Third, misuse of they're, their, and there; want, won't; then, than; you're, your.

7 - Scariest moment in your life?

Well, I'm a worryer so I'm always "scared" something's gonna happen but to pinpoint 1 specific time, again, I've got nothin

8 - Are you where you thought you'd be in your life? Explain.

Yes and no. I knew I always wanted to get married and have kids, but I had no idea I'd be married and have a child at the age of 20. I did want to go to college and get a degree but if I would have done that, I wouldn't have met my husband and we would have our little Livi :)

9 - What is the one thing you can't live without? (Item, not family member)

As bad as it is, my iPhone.

10 - Your all time favorite memory...get creative!

I've got a few:
*Growing up with my cousins. Our summers were so much fun. We didn't have much money but we made the most out of what we did have. We were very creative children.

*Senior year in high school. I went to a VERY small school, but with that comes cliques, however our senior year, our entire class bonded, it was just a blast.

*My wedding day, duh! We didn't have a big wedding but it was perfect for us. Of course there are a few things that I would change (thanks Pinterest!) but it was our day and I loved every aspect of it.

* The day we had Olivia. No explanation needed :)

So there are my answers. I think I only have 1 person that actually reads this little ol blog and she's the one that nominated me so I'm not tagging anyone.

Have a great weekend!!

Over the weekend, we didn't have any plans. Saturday was a lazy day. On Sunday, we hung out around the house for a bit then we made the very short trek to Savannah. We parked on Hutchinson Island and rode the ferry to River Street.

Once we got to River Street we walked through the market and into a few stores. Everything closes at 6 so we didn't have much time to shop. Olivia found a necklace with her name on it and some nail polish and a couple shirts from Del Sol.

After shopping, we had dinner at Spanky's. Yum, so good. That is our go-to restaurant on River Street.

Monday and Tuesday were regular days for us...work, school, the usual. Yesterday Olivia had a snow day from school so we had some girl time at home. She requested that we bake something in her Easy Bake Oven at 9:30am so that's what we did.

While we were baking I noticed a big gap in between her bottom teeth and I asked her about it, and she said "Mom, it's been like that, I have a loose tooth." I had NO idea. Mom fail. Wiggly teeth make me sick to my stomach so I told her to go pull it, and of course she freaked out. "It's gonna hurt!" and "No, there will be blood everywhere!" So I convinced her (may or may not have offered to buy her a toy) to pull the tooth and after wiggling it a couple times, it came out! She was SO excited!!

 Pretty little snaggle-toothed girl :)

So that's what we've been up to lately. I'm back at work and Olivia had another snow day today. Tomorrow's Friday, holla!

Friday 5

Happy Friday! This week has flown by for me, but I'm not complainin'! Linking up with DarciAprilChristina and Natasha for this weeks 5!

It's Friday and I get off at 2:30 today, holla! Love a couple extra hours added to my weekend. Going to pick up my sweet girl and do some shopping :)

I'm seriously over this cold weather. Don't get me wrong, I'm not ready for 100+ temps but this 50's and 60's has got to go. But in the meantime I'm trying to enjoy winter clothes, like these:

I'm in the market for new sneakers. Here are a few of my faves:

My husband has had a cold (and I use that term very lightly) for the past few days and good gosh, you would think he is recovering from major surgery. Love him to death but geez, he's driving me crazy.

I'll leave you with a few Friday funnies...have a great weekend!

Life Lately

Sorry about the little hiatus, with the Holidays, and trying to get back into a routine, this poor blog got put on the back burner again.

So, here's what we've been up to lately:

We got a new puppy! We have a sweet dog, Dixie, that will be 13 this year. She's old and she's still got some spunk left in her, but we wanted a puppy for Olivia to "grow up" with, if that makes any since. And y'all, they are the best of friends! It's the sweetest thing. When we come home at the end of the day, he will run right past me and my husband and straight to her and lick her to no end! BFF's for real!

This is the day we brought him home. So tiny!

We also celebrated Christmas, duh!
Christmas at my parent's house!

My sweet girl got her ears pierced a few weeks ago, and y'all she is SO proud of those things! She checks on them a million times a day to make sure they are still in, ha!
The night she got them done, couldn't wipe that smile off for days!

We've started doing family game night every Tuesday night. While it may not seem like much, it's just what our little family needed. I was so over the usual come home, start dinner, spend a few minutes with Olivia, do laundry, feed everyone, get Olivia bathed and put to bed by 8-8:30. So on Tuesday nights, I make sure that dinner won't take anymore than 30 min or we pick something up on the way home so I don't have to cook, holla! Life is probably our favorite game, we've played it more than anything. We also like Memory and Monopoly, but we let Olivia pick out the game and it's been so nice to have that family time.

Other than that, we've just been doing our usual routine, school and work and coming home just to go to bed and do it all over again. Life is super crazy and busy right now, but I'm hoping to get back into blogging more often than once every 6 months.
