Easter Weekend {Recap}

Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter weekend! I know I sure did! On Friday, me and Olivia went to my parent's house and dyed eggs with my sister and her 3 kids. We dyed SO many eggs but we had a blast! After we dyed them, we, of course, hid them for the kids.
Saturday was a day of rest, if you will. We had a family day, just myself, my husband and Olivia. It was so nice and relaxing to stay home and do nothing but play on Olivia's new waterslide. We had so much fun.
Sunday we got up and went to church at 10. After church we came home and played on the waterslide some more, y'all she loves it!! We had a late lunch with my husband's side of the family and came back home and grilled some steaks (which were delish!) and we got ready for the week ahead.
Ready to go to Nana & Papa's house to dye some eggs!

1. What is your  favorite Easter tradition?
The Friday before Easter (today!) my sister and her kids & myself and Olivia meet at our parents house and we dye eggs. This is SO fun, the kids have a blast and I'm pretty excited about it this year because Olivia is actually old enough to understand what to do! We're doing this today and I can't wait!

2. Are you a "shower" or a "long, hot bath" kind of person?
Definitely long, hot bath. I love taking baths, it's so peaceful and relaxing. My husband actually just put in a new jacuzzi in our bathroom and I love it!

3. Can you parallel park and if so when is the last time you did it?
No, I can not parallel park. I would rather drive an extra 10 minutes looking for a normal parking spot than have to parallel park. The last time I did it was when I took my drivers test almost 9 years ago.

4. What is your favorite Easter candy?

5. Easter: do you go all out with the Easter bunny or focus on the religious part of the holiday?
Definitely the religious part. I mean, don't get me wrong, we do gifts and an Easter basket and all the Easter egg hunts with Olivia but I love this holiday and the religious meaning behind it.
I'll leave you all with some lyrics to one of my favorite Easter songs.

 "Arise My Love" by Newsong

Not a word was heard at the tomb that day.
Just shuffling of soldiers feet as they guarded the grave.
One day, two days, three days had past.
Could it be that Jesus breathed his last?

Could it be that his Father had forsaken him?
Turned his back on his son, dispising our sin.
All hell seemed to whisper, "Just forget it, He's dead."
Then the Father looked down to his son and he said..

Arise, My love.
Arise, My love.
The grave no longer has a hold on you
No more death sting
No more suffering
Arise...Arise...my love.

The Earth trembled and the tomb began to shake, and like lightening from Heaven
The stone was rolled away.
And this dead man the guards they all stood there in fright
As the power of love displayed its might
And suddenly a melody filled the air
Riding wings of wind, it was everywhere
The words of creation had been longing to hear.
The sweet sound of victory, so loud and clear.

Arise, my love.
Arise, my love.
The grave no longer has a hold on you.
No more death sting no more suffering
Arise...arise....

Sin, where are your shackles?
Death, where is your sting?
Hell; has been defeated. The grave will not hold, the king.

Arise, my love.
Arise, my love.
Arise....Arise....Arise

{link up HERE}

1. What is your favorite sign of spring?
Warmer (not HOT) weather and blooming flowers

2. What was your best birthday ever?
Well, I didn't have a huge party for my sweet 16 so I guess I'll have to say my 18th, didn't do anything special for that one either but I had a blast doing what I did ;)

3. What is your favorite dessert?
Chocolate lava cake

4. What is the best excuse you've ever used to get out of a ticket?
Cried-works (at least for me) just about every time

5. Do you wake up before your alarm, with your alarm, or after hitting snooze several times?
Definitely hit the snooze button 5 or 6 3 or 4 times...I HATE waking up, I am not a morning person at all!
***************************************************

I have a fairly busy today and tomorrow ahead of me. This morning it's just me and my little girl at our house and I'm loving it! No interruptions, just me and Livi. Then after lunch we're going to my parents house to visit with them. I haven't seen them in almost a month, which is pretty pitiful seeing that we only live 30 minutes away from each other. Olivia is staying the night with them tonight, which Lord knows I need a break! After I visit with them and drop Livi off I'm going to Miranda's to visit with her, which we've made into a weekly thing, and I love it! We gossip our little hearts out, drink our Red Bull's and vent to each other about the week.  After mine & Miranda's gossip fest visit, I'm meeting my husband and a few of his co-workers, and friends at a bar here in town to celebrate my husband's birthday! Woo-hoo! I'm ready to get my drink on! More than Plenty of bud light's are to be consumed. I can't wait to celebrate!
Tomorrow I've got to go back to my parent's to pick up Olivia and we are going to watch my sweet niece Kate do some dancing. She's so precious and I can't wait to see her perform her little ballet dances. Then me, my husband and my daughter are going to celebrate his birthday, probably just a nice dinner somewhere, not sure yet.
Hope y'all have a wonderful weekend!

***********************************************
1. If you could change one thing about yourself what would it be?
I don't really know, I mean of course I would have the little jiggle here and there fixed but overall I'm pretty satisfied.

2. Write about a time when you got lost.
This has never happened to me...thank goodness!

3. Camping or a 5 star hotel?
I don't mind camping as long as I'm in a camper and not a tent, but at the end of the day I'd rather be in a hotel.

4. Have you donated blood?
Yes, I used to do it as often as possible but I haven't done it in a couple of years.

5. Do you have a budget or do you 'fly by' most months?
We don't have a budget, we just pay what needs to be paid and what ever money that's left over is our "play money."
**************************************************

This weekend we don't have a whole lot planned. However, tomorrow night my father in law is cooking some of these bad boys:

Yum-o! I am SO excited about it seeing that it will be the last time we have them until the fall.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

First bloggy award!!

Thanks to Miranda over at A Carolina Nutshell for giving me this award!! It's my first blog award ever! So a very big THANK YOU!! :)

Rules:
{1} Post 5 random facts about yourself (pics are always good!)
{2} Thank and link back to the person who gave you the award.
{3} Pass award on to 5 other bloggers!

5 Random facts:
[one] The only fruits I eat are watermelon, with salt (a staple in the south!) and grapes, preferably straight off the vine.

[two] I gained 60 (!) pounds when I was pregnant with my daughter. She was born in July of 2008, it was a horrible pregnancy and being pregnant in the slap middle of summer in the South was awful! Thankfully, I lost all 60 pounds!
 around 25 weeks

30 weeks

yes, this is a picture of a picture...sorry!
Exactly 1 month before I delivered Olivia. Those are 2 of my husband's cousins in the picture with me (I'm on the far right). We all 3 delivered our baby's within a month of each other!
The finished product :)

[three] I am the "black sheep" of my family. I was raised Southern Baptist, I'm talking my parents has me in church every time the doors were open. Well, once I turned 15 or so I started rebelling a lotta a little bit. I moved in with my now husband before we were married, I got pregnant before we were married, I smoke cigarettes, I drink. Neither one of my parents did or do any of these things. Thankfully though, they accept me and most importantly love me.
Me, my dad, my mom & my sister

[four] Me and my sister are VERY close. I know it sounds SO cliche but I really don't know where I'd be without her. She has given and still gives me so much advise about everything, kids, life in general, marriage, everything! She has been married for almost 9 years and she and her husband have 3 kids. Reed, who's almost 7 and Kate & Ryder, who will be 5 in June.
My sister & her husband, Chris

Their kids and fur kids!

[five] Even though my green thumb is non-existent I love to plant flowers and shrubs. Seriously, I could do it all day long! Here are a couple of pictures of the ones in my yard:
 My favorite!
 Rose bush

 Azaleas

I pass this award to:
Ashton @ Soulshine
Kori @ Blonde Episodes
Miranda, thanks again for my first blog award!!

Show Us Your Bling

I'm linking up with Lindsay for Show Us Your Bling. I love my wedding ring set so I'll proudly show it off any chance I get!

Here's what you need to do:
1. Show us a photo of your ring (and the story behind it..did you help pick it out or was it a surprise)
2. Or if you're single a photo of your dream ring!

Here is my bling:

via
I wish I could say that my ring still looked like the one above but sadly I don't take it to be cleaned near enough!
The only things I told my husband was that I wanted white gold and princess cut, and this is what he picked out! I love my ring!

Ten on Tuesday

I'm linking up with the above for Ten on Tuesday.

[one] What is your ideal best date?
Well my husband and I are quite the homebodies so I guess it would be going to grab a bite to eat then coming back home and just hanging out.

[two] How long does it take you to get ready to go on a date?
Shower included, about an hour and a half.

[three] What would you wear on the date?
Depends on where we go...

[four] If you are married, how often do you go on dates? If you are single, when was your last date?
We try to have date night at least once a month, this doesn't always happen but that is our goal. It's hard to have date night when you have a child.

[five] What was your worst date?
Can't really think of one...I've never been much of a "dater."

[six] Do you/did you kiss on your first date?
With my husband, yes; with all my other boyfriends, no.

[seven] If married, how long before you knew he/she was the one? If single, how long before you know if the person is marriage material?
I guess it was a few weeks. I know, I know but me and my husband were/are very fast movers!

[eight] Do you prefer day dates or night dates?
Either or, just depends on what the date consists of.

[nine] How old were you when you first were allowed to date?
15ish, I think.

[ten] What is the most embarrassing moment you have had on a date?
Can't think of anything besides the normal things: spilling drinks, dropping food...

Have a wonderful Tuesday!
